NEWS RELEASE: RETIREMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sigmund I. Tannenbaum, Chair of the Board of the Tannenbaum-Sternberger Foundation, announced today that Robert (“Bob”) Klepfer, Jr. will retire as Executive Director of the Foundation effective November 30, 2025. For over 54 years, Bob has led the Foundation, beginning as a part-time Executive Director while a partner at the law firm of Stern, Rendleman and Clark, and, upon his retirement from the law firm, transitioning to full-time Executive Director.
Dr. Tannenbaum said: “Under Bob’s direction, the Foundation has remained a strong force for Guilford County arts, science and public education, while continuing to help combat local food and housing insecurities. He has been a dynamic leader with a passion for philanthropy and a deep knowledge of Guilford County history.”
Mr. Klepfer said: “It has been a privilege and honor to work with Foundation Directors to improve life for residents of Guilford County and to collaborate with other Guilford County nonprofits.
